International Congress of Aesthetics Brazil
last edition previous

The International Congress of Aesthetics Brazil is the largest event of the field in the country and has taken place every two years since 1993. It was initially promoted by the research line in Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art of the Philosophy Post-graduation Program (PPG) of UFMG (Federal University of Minas Gerais). Since 2007, with ABRE’s re-foundation in Belo Horizonte, it has been organized by the association in cooperation with the PPG in Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art of UFOP (Federal University of Ouro Preto) and the line of research in the same area of the Philosophy PPG of UFMG.

Congress editions present Brazilian and international lecturers along with an constantly increasing number of presentations. This growth is attributed not only to the increment in the number of applications but also to the effort of ABRE’s management to ensure the participation of postgraduate researchers, including master students.
