Nilza de Oliveira is invited by the International Association for Aesthetics (https://iaaesthetics.org), during the XI International Congress of Aesthetics (London), to create the Aesthetics Association for Latin America (AEAL), with the aim to become the first institution dedicated to the study and promotion of aesthetics in Latin America.

Foundation of the Argentine Association of Aesthetics.

1st Latin American Colloquium of Aesthetics. Buenos Aires, July 8th. Coordination of Rosa Maria Ravera.

1st Congress of Aesthetics: Death of art today. Belo Horizonte/MG. Coordination of de Rodrigo Duarte. Since then, held biannually without interruption.


1994
Foundation of AEAL in September 19th, in Rio de Janeiro, with the goal of rescuing Latin American artistic memory. First and only official board. Octavio Paz as honorary president and Nilza de Oliveira as president.

1995
I Brazilian Symposium of Aesthetics: Differences between artistic value and aesthetic value in the work of art. October 27th. Coordination of Nilza de Oliveira and Maria Helena Lisboa da Cunha.

2nd International Congress of Aesthetics: Beautiful, sublime and Kant. Belo Horizonte/MG.

The Aesthetics Association for Latin America (AEAL) becomes the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics (ABRE) due to the creation of new national entities in South America with the same purposes.

Brazilian Association of Aesthetics (ABRE). New statute. Gerd Borheim as honorary president. Nilza de Oliveira as president.

Re-founding of the Brazilian Association of Aesthetics, under the coordination of Rodrigo Duarte, with the support of the previous board of directors, of Nilza de Oliveira, former president of AEAL and ABRE, Monica Rapp, former vice-president of ABRE, Daisy Justus, first vice-president of AEAL. New statute. Belo Horizonte, May 19th.

2007
8th International Congress of Aesthetics: Aesthetics of displacement. First event after the re-foundation of ABRE (2006-2007), in Belo Horizonte, giving continuity to the International Congress of Aesthetics, promoted by the line of research in Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art of the Post-graduation Program in Philosophy of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, since then ABRE’s official event.
